Exco Capital conducts fundraising in compliance with South African law and relevant regulations to ensure all investors meet the required criteria.

To register with us and share in our investment opportunities, all investors must qualify as accredited investors under South African law. An accredited investor is an individual or entity that meets specific financial criteria.

For individuals, an accredited investor is someone who:

• Has earned an income exceeding ZAR 3,000,000 (alone or together with a spouse) in each of the past two years and expects the same for the current year, or
• Possesses a net asset value exceeding ZAR 5,000,000, either alone or together with a spouse, excluding the value of their primary residence.

Entities such as banks, partnerships, corporations, non-profit organisations, or trusts can also be considered accredited investors if they meet certain criteria.

Exco Capital takes reasonable steps to verify the accredited investor status of all registrations. This verification involves a principles-based approach, considering factors such as:

• The nature and type of accredited investor they claim to be.
• The amount and type of information Exco Capital has about the investor.
• How the investor was solicited.

Verification methods include:

• Reviewing financial documentation such as income statements or balance sheets.
• Obtaining written confirmation from licensed professionals like attorneys, accountants, or financial advisers.
• Verifying existing accredited investors who have previously been listed with Exco Capital or an associate.
